Children between the ages of five (5) and fifteen (15) years can register. Parents, grandparents and friends can also be involved by helping with the various events.
The Track & Field season generally runs from October through to mid/late March.
Centre meets are held on Saturday morning at J.J. Clancy Reserve, Kilmore commencing at 9:00am and concluding at approximately 10:30am.
Athletes will also have the opportunity of representing their Centre at Open Days, Region & State Championships.
Events offered at KDLA are dependent on the athlete’s age and the program for that week.

Athletes will be split into their age groups and compete in 4 or 5 events depending on their age. The atheltes will complete an event and then move to the next event site once they have finished that event. Athletes will recieve instruction on how to throw and jump when first introduced. Ongoing support will come from the committee and parents with experience.
Our emphasis is on Family, Fun & Fitness. Children can join with any level of skill or fitness. Children are given plenty of encouragement to achieve personal bests (PB’s).
If your child would like to take part in Little Athletics, you need to register them via the online portal on the Little Athletics Victoria website.
New Athletes will be required to provide proof of age – birth certificate or passport etc. to the Centre Registrar to finalise registration. To register online, access Victorian Little Aths Registration Program link.
Age groups are determined by the year of birth. Age groups are taken at 31st December.
Yes, KDLA allows new families up to two (2) weeks trial period before having to commit to registering for the season. Athlets must be registered for there trial by the wednesday before there first attendance. See REGISTER page for further details.
Parents are expected to be in attendance at all times.
Little Athletics Centres are run by volunteers, we cannot operate without the assistance of parents each week in fulfilling the many and varied duties required. These include officiating at an event; managing an age group; recording results; working in the canteen; to name just a few.
Additional assistance is always required on the committees and all parents are encouraged to become involved. Little Athletics is one of the few sports where parents can become fully involved in their child’s sporting interests.
Appropriate footwear must be worn in all events by all competing members. Only athletes in Under 11-16 are permitted to wear spikes all other athletes will wear runners.
Yes; all registered athletes must wear a Club singlet and plain black or blue shorts when competing in Little Athletics competitions. Uniforms may be purchased from the office on registration day or at any centre meet. When representing the Centre at interclub events athletes are required to wear a KDLA singlet and plain black shorts.
Trophies, medals and certificates are awarded at the conclusion of the season at our presentation day. All athlete’s performances are recorded in each event, every week. Results are available via the ResultsHQ online portal HERE.
